Hannah & Tom
Hannah and Tom are a very sweet couple that was a delight to work with. They have one of those fun stories of how they met - in a dating app - and after the first date they never looked back. They have since adopted a cute sausage dog, Stanley - that even made a special appearance at their wedding!
Being who they are, their desire was to have a relaxed and fun day to celebrate their love, and they chose of the most stunning Cotswolds wedding venues: Elmore Court. It was a perfect combination of cosy and beautiful, with plenty of laughter and joy.
Winter cosiness
There is something so magical about a winter wedding: the softness of the light, the quietness of nature, and the desire to gather together to enjoy the company of those we love. An Elmore Court winter wedding celebrates it all, with its stunning rooms and rustic log fires, inviting all guests to sit a while, to just be, making it a dream of any Cotswolds wedding photographer.
Elmore Court
The gorgeous house dates back to around 1580 and the family has lived on site since the 13th century! The owners have worked hard to develop Elmore Court into a fantastic Cotswolds wedding venue, adapting this historic house to be a place of beauty and entertainment. It has a unique ballroom, the GillyFlower, that was sustainably constructed, using materials found on the property. I simply fell in love with its gigantic windows that frame the breathtaking views of the grounds.
You look beautiful
I love sharing the first hours of the day with the bride. It is sweet to get to register her getting ready for the big day and to witness the lovely atmosphere of excitement and support created by the bridesmaids. Hannah finished her make-up in the light-filled Coach House - a wonderful building, close to Elmore Court's main House, but not so close that Hannah would be in the thick of all the preparation for the wedding. It was great that they could have that separate space, and we could enjoy yet another place to take their Elmore Court wedding photography.
Elmore Court Master Suite
As the ladies got ready, we moved to the Master Suite, a classic wooden panelled bedroom, that has been the main bedroom of the House for centuries. I love that we could capture in her Elmore Court wedding video the last few minutes before Hannah put on her gown, and all the stunning takes we have of her in this dreamy space.
Bridesmaids first look
The bridesmaids were all ready when we called them in to see Hannah. It is always fun to have the bride’s closest friends see her first, giving her words of encouragement to ease her anxiety before walking down the aisle. And everyone gets to stop and appreciate the details of the bride’s look - something that they might not have time for once the schedule of the wedding day gets going! It was super special that Hannah’s mother was part of it all, and we now have it all eternalised in their Elmore Court wedding photography.
Her Look
Hannah’s dress was absolutely beautiful, with lace details all over. It has such an elegant shoulder line cut and a pretty low back covered by lace details. For her hair, she went for relaxed waves and her accessories were timeless, with a drop pearl and delicate chain bracelet. Her shoes were a winner - with the block heels that allowed Hannah to feel comfortable all day!
We did it together
Of all the Cotswolds wedding venues I visited, Elmore Court is certainly one of my favourites. The Great Hall, where the ceremony happened, is grand but somehow it manages to be cosy, with its wooden floors and precious tapestry. The winter light in the room was gentle, almost mystical, perfect for their Elmore Court wedding video.
Our special friend
I mentioned earlier Stanley, Hannah and Tom’s little sausage dog. He was one of the stars of the day! Stanley wasn’t at the ceremony but arrived as soon as it finished and we had a lot of fun including him in the photos and in their Elmore Court wedding video. He became the centre of attention, and it couldn’t be different, Stanley being such a cutie! Hannah and Tom even made sure that he appeared on the cake!
The GilliFlower
The GillyFlower, where the reception was, has so many wonderful features that it needs very little added to it. Hannah and her mother worked together to decorate her Elmore Court winter wedding. They used eucalyptus and real slabs of wood, that complemented the space gracefully, continuing with the natural feel that the couple desired for their day. It is always special to have loved ones getting involved in the decoration - it all becomes more personal and unique, and the love that is put into getting it all together spreads through the day. As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I loved the gift of being able to register this wonderful event in such a fantastic space.
The gorgeous Rooms of Elmore Court
To be able to take Hannah and Tom’s Elmore Court wedding photography was a real pleasure to me. There are fantastic views of the beautiful English countryside, a manicured garden and stylish rooms to explore. Being it an Elmore Court winter wedding, we made the most out of the many windows, corridors and nooks of the house. We just loved the variety of places we could go to create memories for this sweet couple, especially the glorious copper bath in the Oak Room.
A lovely Cotswolds Winter Wedding
Hannah and Tom’s Elmore Court wedding was a truly lovely day, a real treat to any Cotswolds wedding photographer. It was full of beautiful smiles, wonderful countryside views, a charming historic house, a lovely atmosphere and a couple ready to share their day with those that they love - what else could I have asked for?
“Aline was amazing! She was so lovely, relaxed and professional. She completely understood our needs and the photos are beautiful. On occasion, we didn't even realise she was there (in a good way!) but she still managed to capture all our special moments. Would highly recommend her!”
