KRYSTIANNE & DONALD
Krystianne and Donald are a kind and delightful couple. You know they love each other when you meet them, when you see them interact. They planned their wedding to be a special occasion and they desired a big day that would reflect who they are and what they love.
We had met weeks before their wedding and spent some hours together at Ashton Court pre-wedding session in Bristol. We had a lot of fun together with their dog Thunder in the rolling parklands and making the most of the beautiful surroundings. I love how in those the couple and I can get to know each other, it allows them both to feel comfortable in front of my lenses when the wedding day comes. Besides, after a pre-wedding session, we always have sweet photos of the couple, marking a special season of their lives and personal story.
How wonderful it was to learn that of all wedding venues in the Cotswolds, Krystianne and Don had chosen to do a Roman Baths sunset wedding. Bath in itself is a charming city, and the Roman Baths are unlike anything else! The surroundings couldn’t have been more unique, where you can immerse yourself in history and beauty. I am so glad that I was able to capture the precious moments of this beautiful wedding in this fantastic venue.
I see the joy in your eyes
Krystianne got ready not far from the Roman Baths, accompanied by her mother and bridesmaids. She chose the perfect dress for her Roman Baths sunset Wedding, with a cut that allowed her to walk safely around the unstable grounds of the ancient Great Bath. But it wasn’t only the right cut, it was classic and delicate, with a romantic V-neck and back. Her hair was tied up softly, and the make-up complemented the look perfectly for a romantic Roman Baths Wedding Photography.
Bride & Father first look
When she was ready, her father came to see her for a first look. He came through the door, and they saw each other, smiled and cried, and embraced in a hug full of affection and delight. This moving moment is one of my favourites of Krystianne and Don’s Roman Baths Wedding Video, one I am so happy we were there to register it. The father’s joy and pride to see his daughter ready to get married to the love of her life filled the room - it was really moving.
Time & History
Being a destination wedding photographer, I have travelled to many places to accompany couples and capture the moments of their big day. I have had the opportunity to see fantastic places through my work and I can genuinely tell you: the Roman Baths is arguably one of the most epic wedding venues in the UK. Cotswolds wedding photography is always a pleasure to me, and I love the green rolling hills, the limestone buildings and the wonderful views, and I am grateful I had the opportunity of being a Roman Baths Wedding Photographer. The setting is enchanting in its very own way, and to do Krystianne and Don’s Roman Baths Wedding Photography, and eternise their day as celebrated with their families and their friends in this fantastic place was a wonderful experience.
Sunset weddings at the Roman Baths
A Roman Baths sunset Wedding is a special occasion that offers the couple and their guests a unique setting to enjoy, since it happens just after the museum closes, and the space is all theirs. Its 2000 years of history and unmatching beauty make up an exceptional place for the couple to affirm their love of one another, in one of the most special Wedding Venues in the Cotswolds.
Soft and romantic colour palette
Krystianne’s choice for her bridesmaids and flower girls was elegant and timeless, in shades of aqua green that matched the colours of the ancient Great Bath. The bouquets were stunningly beautiful, with a combination of anemones, roses, eucalyptus, and thistles, in white, green and blue, creating a romantic atmosphere. It was a magical moment when Krystianne walked around the ancient bath with its steaming waters, ready to hold hands with Don, under the flickering light of the torches.
Photographing at the Roman Baths
At a sunset wedding, the light is always changing, and it offers fantastic opportunities to explore and create using the different colours that the space reflects, in its mellow yellow limestones, and aqua green of the bath and the cut of the open sky. Being a Roman Baths Wedding Photographer was a true joy, and I loved the challenge of photographing in such a unique historical place.
Enduring love
It seems to me that no other place of all Wedding Venues in the Cotswolds could reflect Krystianne and Don as well as the Roman Baths. They come from families whose parents have been married for many years, and so have grandparents. Time for them is a sign of strength, beauty and stability. And that is what this epic wedding venue in the UK reflects: that love is to endure and to be a partner of time as the couple grows old together.
Tears of joy
Krystianne and Don’s wedding ceremony was moving, and the couple didn’t hold back the tears. Parents and grandparents read to them beautiful reflections on the depths of love and the meaning of marriage - and those are people that know what they are talking about! Their words were profound and weighty, and I am glad they are eternalised in their Roman Baths Wedding Video, and they can be heard again, so their wisdom can guide Krystianne and Don in the years to come.
After the ceremony, with the light changing each minute, we had a few moments to do some very special Cotswolds wedding photography around the Great Bath. One of the particular aspects of a Roman Bath sunset wedding is the limited time, and everything follows a schedule to work perfectly. It presents its own challenges, but it was an incredible experience to spend time with Krystianne and Don and the people they love surrounded by the ancient walls of the Roman Baths, around its steaming waters. An experience I cannot wait to repeat.
